Welch Made was founded by Henry, a London-born designer-maker and former architectural modelmaker and is now based in Zurich. After years crafting architectural models, often from plastics and foams that would outlast their purpose, Henry grew disillusioned with the industry’s culture of disposability. That realization inspired him to make objects with meaning and longevity: pieces intended to enrich daily life rather than serve a fleeting purpose.

What began as an exploration of lampshades has evolved into a ceramics practice where digital fabrication meets traditional technique, allowing forms to echo the complexity of organic structures. Influenced by the anti-design movement, cartoons, and animation, Henry’s work reflects a childlike sense of wonder—playful and curious. Welch Made exists to enhance everyday living through thoughtful design that encourages presence, calm, and appreciation of small moments. Each creation is a quiet reminder to slow down, and find joy in everyday rituals.
